Jacques Reinold, wrongfully accused of causing a fatal accident, flees to Barcelona where he is saved from despair by a kind-hearted cabaret singer, Maria. As the truth of his innocence comes to light, Maria sacrifices her love so Jacques can find happiness with Laurence, the daughter of the Judge who condemned him.
